Welcome to the "Sunsted Boogie 2026” boogie in Finland event gallery. The Sunset Boogie is organized by Skydive Finland Ry & Flight Club Finland Oy in Savonlinna airfield, Finland. The event is planned on a latitude that the sun goes down but it’s still bright during the night. It’s all about sunset and red skies. The whole idea started from a photographic idea to get crazy sunset images. As a photographer, this is like a dream as I always wanted sunsets to last longer than they normally do, during this event and on these locations, sunset lasts all night long and jumping goes on from 9pm through 5am! Additionally, the skydivers attending all stay in cabins by the lake and experience Finnish way of life and nature while staying by the lake.
The event has been going on for 11 years, this year’s boogie limited registration to approximately 25 jumpers and flew a Grand Caravan due to the location restrictions. In past years, The Boogie has been up to 45 jumpers from up to 18 countries operating a Twin Otter.
In 2027 the organizers plan to open registration for up to 45 jumpers again and run the boogie with Twin Otter in very special location by the beach. I plan to organize a group that will have me as their personal Freefall photographer. For information on this please contact me at [email protected]
Thanks to all participants, organizers, staff and participants for such an amazing exotic location event and experience!
This gallery contains all images I selected from what I shot in the course of the event. Enjoy browsing and re-living the awesome flights!
