September 11th Memorial in New York

On September 11, the members of Team Fastrax were asked to do a demonstration jump flying 7 American flags simultaneously over Ground Zero in New York city as part of the official ceremony conducted that morning on the ground in memory of the 9/11 events.  Norman was there to capture the images. It was an emotional moment, news media reported that people started crying as the flags flew over New York skies.

Norman Kent Speaks at NAB 2008

Norman Kent Speaking at NAB 2008Norman was invited to be a speaker at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) trade show in Las Vegas during a party hosted by Sony and VASST. It was very exciting as this is not a skydiving environment and he was asked to talk about his opinion on HD video format vs. film. In his speech, he said “all formats are good, they are simply a flavor to choose from to achieve a desired look for creative purposes” he also talked about how technology in relation to his creative side, were similar to managing fear in skydiving with his creativity in that environment. The entire event was a huge success and his speech was so powerful that two other speakers (including Les Stroud from “Survivorman” show) referred to Norman’s comments several times during their speeches.

100-Way CRW Canopy Formation World Record Video

In November 2007, the world record CRW 81-way canopy formation was broken and an unbelievable new record was set. The new record was a 100-way diamond shaped canopy formation. The event took place over Lake Wales, FL, and was organized by cfworldrecord.com. The event organizers were Chris Gay, Mike Lewis, Christophe Balisky and Brian Pangburn. All of the parachutes used in the formation were provided by Performance Designs.

We were at the drop zone in Lake Wales to record and document the success of the record attempt both in the sky and on the ground. A short documentary/promo video for the event was recently commissioned by selection.com, which we have just completed.

Our video of this incredible parachuting accomplishment is here now for your viewing below. You can view or download a higher quality version of this video from our Video page.
